Does anyone have advice? I'm starting 12 weeks of taxol/herceptin weekly. Then nine months of herceptin every 3 weeks. I'm scared as heck.

I was very scared also. I did 5 treatments of taxotere, carboplatin n herceptin n then 9months of herceptin. For me,the chemo kicked my butt, I didn't do well. But it was over before I knew and now I am totally fine. You will get through it, try to stay hydrated before n after your treatments. Make sure you let your oncologist know of any side effects. There's many drugs to alleviate bothersome symptoms.

I've had over a year of treatment so far and only 3 Herceptin left. I started scared too!!! Walking, yoga and especially meditation have been invaluable. Having a support network, asking for help when you need it, praying to whomever you believe in, cuddling pets, Netflix movies, audiobooks all help. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and your medical team will help you through any issues. Her2 is now an ok one to have - at least we have Herceptin and a bunch if new treatments in studies now too.

Did you lose your hair? Seems inevitable.

I know it can feel overwhelming at first especially of the unknown , one day at a time really works for me . My treatment is also Herceptin but with taxotere /cytoxan . I started Herceptin first had it 5 times before chemo and I still jogged 3 miles a day up to my chemo only felt a little winded but otherwise good , so if that helps to understand its ok then with the chemo I've had 2 out of 6 so far , the first was NOT good , also i recomend getting a port i waited till before my second chemo treatment and i suffered but after it was placed much better i had it placed right where my bra strap is so i can still wear tank tops . The second time of chemo much better and I'm walking 2 miles a day . So whatever helps u feel good , I say do it .. Try to have a normal life as possible , take this as a bump in the road it's not the end !

Oops. No one ever seems to regret having one put it.

I remember that feeling. I also had taxol/herceptin and currently get herceptin every 3 weeks. I never got sick from this combo. I did have bone and muscle pain from taxol about halfway through treatment and around my 8th treatment starting getting numbness in hands and feet. It wasn't constant and it went away when I was done with taxol.

Your oncologist will prescribe meds for pain if you need them.

Sorry I keep hitting the done button thinking its return. Anyways try not to stress to much. You will probably have a few days of aching and just not feeling well a few days after. You will get through this! Sending thoughts and prayers

I'm going to start that same treatment of taxol and herceptin next week. How are you doing? It looks like you posted that question 3 months ago, so are you done with taxol now?
