That is a question for the doctor treating you. There is no cure. Every case of breast cancer is different. There are women who live 5 years and women who live 10-20 years. The good news is that there are many new treatments that weren't available when these studies of survival rates were originally done. Now that the word is pretty much completely out about early detection and mammograms we need to start spending 'breast cancer awareness' money raised in researching cures for metastatic breast cancer so that no one has to go through this fear. Blessings to you as you begin your new treatments.

Stage 4 survival depends on biology of tumor... I know for stage 4 her2 plus that has not responded to Herceptin ... 25 percent die within 3 years, 50 percent at 3 years and 25 percent live on.. This was told to me last Spring... With perjeta newly approved and being used I don't know how it has changed these statistics... Science will continually be improving these numbers and we never know who the 25 percent are that just keep living... So best bet is live your good life!
